Food Town
“Polly, time to wake up!” Mom yelled from the kitchen. Polly pulled herself out of the freezer and went to the kitchen to see her mom. “You’re such a lazy popsicle,” Mom said.
“Whatever I’m going out, don’t know when I’ll be back,”
“But you haven’t even eaten breakfast yet,” mom tried to say but it was too late she was already out the door. Polly walked down the street to the bus stop so she could go to the Mall.
“SCREECH,” the bus needed new brakes badly. Polly went on the bus and sat down. The bus was always crowded but today she was the only one on it. It took one hour for the bus to reach its stop when it normally only takes ten minutes to get to the mall.
“We’re here,” the bus driver announced and Polly got off the bus. Instead of looking at the mall Polly was seeing mountains. She took a couple steps and noticed a sign that said “Welcome to Jube-Jube Mountains.” Polly looked around and seen a cottage on top of the mountains. She turned around to get back on the bus and go home but the bus had already driven away. It looked like the only way to get home was to walk home or climb to the cottage and use the phone.
It was a long walk up the mountain and would take hours to get up.
“Looks like I better start walking now,” Polly said to herself. Since there was no trail, she chose the closest spot to climb up the mountain which was a green Jube-Jube that was to the left of her. When she reached the foot of the mountain and looked up, the mountain looked really big. She started to hike up the mountain and after 10 minutes she was already tired.
It took one hour to walk all the way up the mountain. Once she reached the top, she met another Popsicle named Hank.
“Do you know where the nearest bus stop is?” Polly asked.
“It’s about 19 km to the east of that lamp post,” He answered, pointing to a lamp post at the bottom of the mountain.
“Does that mean I have to walk all the way back down the mountain?”
“No, you can just take the tram.” Hank said as he pointed toward something on a wire cable.
“You mean I walked all the way up here when I could have taken the tram?” Polly complained.
“Yea, pretty much.”
Polly got on the tram and went back down the mountain. It only took ten minutes to get down. When she reached the bottom, she started walking east. While she walked she saw many trees, so she started to count them. She restarted counting many times, so when she reached the bus stop she was only at 12. It took her two hours to walk there from the mountains.
The Journey to Find the Samsquatch
Once upon A time Denzel Washington And Ben went to find the Samsquatch atop the Diego Mountains. This is how the story begins... “DUDE. LETS GO TO FIND THE SAMSQUATCH.” So off they went to the teleporter the take them to his lair. On their way to the teleporter Denzel and Ben met up with Casper. “Hey Casper wanna go find the Samsquatch?” “Sure!” He said… And they went through the teleporter and were whisked away to his Lair…

Laya's Story
Once upon a time there was a young girl named Davinia. She was from a very poor family. She was very unhappy one day because her father had left the week before and had said that he would only be gone for a few hours.
She asked her mom were her dad was after a few more days and her mom said that she and her dad had gotten a divorce and did not want to tell her and her sister.
Davinia was very mad about this and decided she wanted to call and talk to him about this. She looked for him in all of the phone books she could and still couldn’t find him. She asked her mom and she said “I do not want you talking to him because he left us”
Davinia did not want to hear that and decided to find him anyway. She looked in her moms room when she was home alone and found his phone number and address. The next time her mom was gone she went to the address that was supposedly her dads and to her surprise it was a total stranger.
She went home after thinking she had the wrong address and decided that she would ask her mom about it. When she asked her mom about this, She sighed and said I guess I needed to tell you one day. Davinia gave her mom a confused look and asked for her to explain.
“well” her mom started.” when I was pregnant with you I got a divorce from the man you met today and found the man you know as your father and decided we would never tell you about this.” Davinia was very very mad at her mom and asked what her real dads name was and if she could meet him again. Her mom was not very happy about this but agreed because she knew that she was very stubborn.
The next day Davinia went back to the mans house and he answered the door. She asked to come in and he asked why. Davinia replied “I know this is going to sound corny but you are my dad, my mom was married to you and when she was pregnant with me she got a divorce with you, so may I come in I have just a few questions to ask you.
He let her in and asked if she would like anything to drink and she said no thanks and that she just had a few questions to ask him. She started out with just the simple questions, what is your name, do you have any kids, and most importantly why did u and my mom get a divorce
This mans name was, Thomas and he had one other child named Ayesa. She is eight years old and loves to play in the park just like Davinia did when she was that age.
She went onto his house and found that he was fairly rich, and he was not sure why they got a divorce. She kept asking questions for about an hour. Once she was done she left and went home to tell her mom what she had been doing.
Her mom was very upset with what she was doing and grounded her. Davinia did not like being grounded ever, especially for the little thing she had done. That night once her mom was asleep she snuck out of her window and went to see her dad again. When he answered his door and saw here there he asked why she was there. She replied “I have been talking to my mom and I think that I should live with you…at least if you will let me” Her dad gave her a loving look and responded “you can stay for tonight and let what you want to do sink in” After this talk Davinia went up to a room se was hoping to share with her half sister.
When she woke up the next morning she went down stairs to find her dad and talk to him before she went home. Once she was dressed and went back down stairs, she found her dad making a huge pancake breakfast for her and her sister. She ate the breakfast and then went outside to play with Ayesha and then began her 3 kilometre walk home.
When she got home her mom was very mad that she had snuck out and spent the night at a stranger’s house.

Paublo
Once upon a time a lil boy named Ben was attacked by a dog/frog/shark also none as a Simbobway. As the Simbobway jumped at him like a frog, he opened his mouth and showed his pearly white three sets of teeth. His whiskers were flailing in the wind. As the Simbobways teeth was almost a foot away from lil Bens throat, the almighty senor paublo body checked the simbobway and it flew through three trees but finally stopped after leaving a giant indent into the great mountain Fuccifetetera. After such an enormous shock after fear poor lil Ben passed out unconscious. The very no one Mexican super hero took lil Ben back to his taco shop.
When lil Ben woke up he found a strange and invigorating smell. He knew he recognized it but he couldn’t put his finger on it. He sat up from his so-called bed. There was made from crate that was filled with oranges and it was covered with hay. And the blanket he was using was actually a poncho. He walked into the ding room to find that the table was another batch of crates filled with oranges. On the table was the reason for that smell Ben woke up to. It was taco!!! Then senor paublo walked into the room and kneeled be side the so-called table. Senor Paublo said”Ola amigo welcome to me lovely home. Would u like some tacos essa?” “ where the hell am I ?” asked lil ben in a shaky voice. “Why you senor are in my home town. Mexico OLAY” “Shut up you Mexican, and get the hell away from me” paublo replied “ OLAY! OLAY! OLAY! No way my name a Pablo”
Then all of a sudden Bens friend that went missing two years ago walked into the room.
Olivia's story
Our hidden camp hunkered down, deep in the middle of a field in a small grove. Soon we would have to leave, the fires were spreading fast, and the enemy was still shooting flaming arrows. The smoke was blowing towards us in clouds, making our men cough and splutter while trying to clean up.
They were cruel, but they had a good strategy; they didn’t know exactly where we were, so they would just smoke us out, like rats. Most of the time their enemies would die in the fire, from the smoke or flames. It was a common household method, and recently the Force had started to use it for all sorts of things. If you rode along the countryside, you would find many places burnt, but usually never more than a house or two. They were going all out this time.
Though, I thought, they are actually helping us now, giving us smoke to hide in while we escape. But if we don’t hurry, we will all end up as piles of burned coyote snacks
As their arrows came nearer and nearer to our camp, Mary giggled. She was lying on her stomach beside me, playing with the hem of my dress. She giggled wildly again in her insane state.
“Missed us, missed us, must try harder!” She chanted, over and over, giggling in between.
It was only by my command that she be brought with us. We had stumbled across her a few months ago at a destroyed town, an only survivor. The men had tried to pry some information of the disaster from her.
‘Was it of the kings bidding, or was it a natural cause?’ They had asked.
Even if the disaster were just an accident, though they thought not, she wouldn’t tell. She sat just sat there and sang a little nursery rhyme, ‘Mary May’ it was called.
Mary May, Mary May, oh won’t you come to play
Mary May, Mary May, we shall play all day
It wasn’t long after trying to talk to her that they realized that her mind had been twisted. They’d thought to leave her die, how good could a messed mind be? But I insisted that she be brought.
‘Maybe after time she might tell’ I had said, but there was another reason. She was only a young woman, maybe 12 at the most, only a couple years younger than I. I felt that if I was to go off-balance, I wouldn’t want to be left, I would want to be taken care of.
So, I insisted she be brought, and I had been taking care of her since. We had named her Mary, because of the nursery rhyme. She seemed to like it, because whenever I turned she was humming her name to herself.
She had been an inconvenience sometimes, but it was nice not being the only woman in camp, no matter how lost her mind was. She was always at my side, ready to help with most minor things. It felt like that was how she was paying me back for bringing her, and I have never regretted it.
It felt almost motherly, to be able to take care of another, one who wasn’t always practicing in swordplay, or was always gone one missions. I would sit and brush her hair, or teach her how to sew; things I had chose to miss entirely when I took up my lifestyle.
Though, I would never tell my brother how much I missed out from a normal life, or any of the men for that thought. He need not think of one more worry. Anyways, none of them thought it proper for a lady such as myself, with higher blood, to be doing such a man’s work. It would just add to the fight. I had tried to make it clear that I wanted it, though they treated me like I didn’t. I am fully competent, and I am not sure if they are too polite to realize that.
My thoughts popped back to the present. Glancing round, I realized that the fires were coming in faster, and we needed to leave. I looked to my brother. He caught my gaze and nodded, his curly brown hair bobbing by his eyes. He signalled to the men, and we arranged our weapons and loads, ready to flee.
I shouldered a heavy knapsack full of food before I felt a tap on my arm. There was Thomas, one of our younger recruitments. He was standing there with only a crossbow, reaching for my load.
“I can carry it,” I told him, but he shook his head.
“Tis’ not fair for a lady to do a man’s work, no matter th’ conditions, but ‘specially when there is a cap-ble sir nearby.” He told me bowing his head.
“Are you saying I am not capable?” I snapped at him, as always tense under pressure.
“N-no miss-Ma’am, I-I was only trying to be helpful” he stuttered.
I sighed, this was taking time and we needed to hurry.
“Here then, be careful with it!” I handed it to him and watched him join the line.
I hurried over to Vespeiri, who I knew always-carried extra weapons. Before joining us he had been a village butcher, and so he had brought many of his tools with him. He was quite a valuable addition to our group.
When I fronted him, he handed me a single dagger, knowing already what I wanted. It was big enough to be used in hand-to hand-combat, but not enough to be a nuisance. Handy.
I nodded thanks and ran around our camp once more to make sure we hadn’t left any evidence of being there. Not that it mattered; everything would probably be burnt by Orlineate’s pets.
The fire had been smothered at the first sound of horses, and we had spread the ashes in the wind. We hid all the hay and other crops we had used as extra bedding, because we hadn’t enough time to spread those also. The dirt we had printed was roughed to look natural. The men had done a good job in the short time they had.
I ran to my place near the end of the line. With one more glance down the arrangement, my brother nodded, wincing, and rubbed his jaw. I sent him an understanding look, and we left.
We ran in a single line North, away from the enemy, and the fires. I looked back through the fire and smog, and saw the actual squadron.
There were about 65-armed footmen, and thirty archers all skilfully arranged, surrounding their Leader. We would never stand a chance, even with our great swordsmen. We had thirty-two men, though we lost four some days ago. We were one of the best-organized rebel bands we had heard of, but not the biggest.
Only a few were larger than forty. Most teams split into two or three groups at that point, to avoid detection. Now we were trying to meet up with our sister groups to discuss our plans.
Looking back ahead, I realized Mary wasn’t in front of me; she had slipped off somewhere. I frantically scanned the plain, until I saw her head bobbing towards the enemy’s wall of fire. If she kept going, she would show them our exact path.
I sprinted out of the line, running back in our previous direction, despite the calls I heard behind me. No one could follow though, it was against our rules, and only my brother and I were allowed to say otherwise. Nobody questioned us.
“Come, come, come find us. Yes, you boys, come play our game, come play our game. Come, come and find us!” Mary giggled up ahead.
My head ducked and I skirted through the mixture of hay and corn. I tried to hide my frame from most sight.
When I neared her I skilfully grabbed her, grabbing her arm and covering her mouth, pulling her down. She tried to pull away and scream. I just held her harder; twisting her in a way that she could see it was I. I took a minute to let her calm down.
Randomly, she started giggling.
“Why, come play our little game, they must come find us, yes they must, come, come, play with us, play with me!” She whispered to me.
Then she started yelling, “Mary Mary, Mary Mary, boys come to play, May May, come play come play…” She started choking, and her eyes rolled back into her head. I slapped her hard. She jerked back, staring at me with open eyes. I had never seen her this twisted before, beyond talking sense.
The smoke must be winding her mind beyond its usual state I concluded. Lack of air
“Come, hurry,” I hissed at her, pulling her up. I started dragging her away, and she stumbled alongside me.
I had lost sight of the line, but I knew where they were headed. Only if I could see which direction I was going in! The dense air made me cough and trip, still trying to lead Mary.
I heard the sound of a small catapult, and ducked to the ground. To our left, I heard an explosion. An air of wind reverberated over fields, before brightness showed through the smog. I started running. We couldn’t get caught in one of those.
I heard Mary heaving, and felt her pulling behind me. I turned around and pulled her over my shoulder, her petite weight a burden I had trouble with, even after all my work with the men.
There was only one reason I should be this weak. I growled and shoved my long, golden hair away from my face, and pushed on.
After a few minutes, and much dodging of explosions, my back and shoulders started to ache. I could only carry her for so long. I checked her face and realized she was unconscious; the smoke had been too much for her. I flung us on the ground in a fit of coughs, trying to clear my own lungs of the horrid smell of burning.
Taking the chance to look around, I realized that they had burnt much of what had been a fall harvest, though how much I wasn’t sure. Some poor family was going to go hungry this winter.
Because Orlineate is too much of a scamming dog to pay them for their loss that he caused I thought bitterly, breath finally slower.
Behind us the flames sneaked closer and closer. I stood back up, searching ahead. There, I saw something. I looked again. Something was glistening.
Water
I grabbed Mary under the arms and started to drag her, we had to get there. It was our only chance of survival from the flames.
I glanced back and realized that far back the first fires had burned out and turned into ash. The enemy was advancing behind their new wall of flares, so if the fire didn’t get us, they would.
Panic seized my stomach. What if I can’t get her to the waters edge, what if I’m not strong enough. I will have to… or they will kill us, either the fire or them. Because of my stupid, prideful hatred of it we will be burned to ashes, and then stomped into the ground by their horses.
My steps started to falter unwillingly, she was so heavy. Laden down with all of- no, do not think of that!
I took a deep breath that sent me coughing, and I used this to clear my head of the negative thought.
I will not do it, and we will not die. I will think of a plan, and even if I don’t, he will
I thought of my brother, Kalmber. He had been so heroic, leading our band all these years. It had been so stressful for him. And he had taken everything that had happened to us better than I ever could. He would never enjoy that one part, but at least he embraced the need and obliged to it willingly before things happened.
He would have made a perfect father for a little one; so orderly and intelligent with a strong will for the right thing.
He also had looks to best any normal prince; tall, lean, but muscular with light brown, bouncy curls, over deep green eyes. His features were all sharp. His nose, cheekbones, and jaw, weren’t round and too wide like the kingdom boys. They were sharp and idyllic, but could be terrifying if need be. If any lady had him she would be the luckiest in the kingdom.
We had few similarities. Our noses were different, mine being the smallest amount curved down the main shaft, his straight. The light crystal blue-ness of my eyes varied from his green lake-like deepness, though they still were both shocking. My hair was wavy, and a lustrous, flaxen colour. Our body types were the same; slim but tall, his muscle still exceeding mine, no matter what I did.
I refocused again, noticing that we were almost there, I could tell out the shape of a lake. I ran the last bit, Mary bouncing along the ground behind me. She would have some bruises tomorrow, but wouldn’t we all?
I ran to the edge, dropped Mary, and took off my belt, along with the dagger and various other things I had hidden away. ‘A good swordsman’ Or woman I added to myself ‘never lets his dagger rust,’ we all knew that.
Sloshing into the water, I splashed Mary. She woke and sat up, coughing out ash. Then she crawled to the lakes edge, and started gulping up the water.
I dipped my body in, relaxing my tired muscles. Soaking my dress, I drank in the coolness. I sighed. I could stay floating in the shallows for days on end, but we would have to move in a minute.
At that moment I could feel my joints pine, and it was all I could do to just lie there. I finally felt a pint of relief. The need to leave and catch up to the others was still urgent in my mind, but I tried, exhausted, to convince myself that we would be safe.
If only for one minute
I inhaled a large breath. Looking at the setting blob of hazy light that should be the sun, I thought of how hungry I was, the reason why I was so tired.
We needed to leave, but I didn’t want to. I will count to thirty then we will go
One… two… three… four… We need to leave, five… six…
Before I even got to think the next number, I heard a catapult fire. I ducked under the water. But two seconds later my body was blown back onto the sand, where I landed, unconscious.
English Story
James and Tom were very excited about their heli-skiing trip. Then the day before the trip, their uncle called saying he was un-able to take them and that they had to re-schedule for another time later in the winter. James and Tom were bummed, but they weren’t going to take no for an answer. So they headed out in James’s truck to go make a jump in the valley. An hour later the jump was made and James and Tom were hiking up for their first run. Tom went first and nailed a cab 540 and landed smoothly, James hit the kicker on an angle and ended up catching an edge and went flailing through the air. When he landed he fell into what looked like powder but was actually 2 inches of snow then a thin sheet of ice over a pond. James broke through and plummeted into the ice cold water. Tom realized this and came running to his aid and tried to grab on to the dead like body. James was rushed to the hospital and later died of hypothermia, it was too late. Months later the vivid memory was still in Toms mind, but he usually visited the valley where the tragic accident happened.
Dalton-The Only Grade 9
The day that Kyle found out he was failing was the day he stopped arguing with his parents. It was the day he stopped complaining about chores, school, and any other thing a regular 14 year old boy would complain about. He couldn’t complain. He realized that they weren’t the worse things in life. Kyle, funny popular class clown Kyle… was now the stupid kid
The day before:
Kyle was on top of the world. He had just gotten, in his opinion, the hottest girl in the school, Even if the school only had 140 kids in it. There wasn’t much selection. Anyways he was happy. His life seemed to be going okay. He was getting along with his parents. Well… he wasn’t grounded. His school behaviour was doing well. He had just gotten out of the stupid tutoring program because of his mid-term, and report card day was tomorrow days which he was fairly confident about. He was kind of tired. This suited him, as he was always tired. He was very ready to go home and talk on the computer until his eyes fell out of his head. Today was going to be a good day.
Kyle was on his way home from school when he saw Brody. Brody was his best friend since grade 1. Even though Brody had been held back in grade 1 he still acted like a grade 9. Kyle and Brody had had a fight last week and Kyle was still trying to patch things up. Kyle caught up with Brody and said “Hey Brody, how’s it going?” “Pretty good” Replied Brody, “What do you want?” “I was wondering what your doing this weekend?” said Kyle. Brody thought for a moment then said “Well mom said that I could hang out with you on Friday.” Kyle realized that Brody’s mom had been trying to get Brody to hang out with him again. Kyle suddenly filled with a deep respect for Brody’s mother. Still smiling inside Kyle said “Ok, I don’t think I’m doing anything then so come on over.” As Kyle walked away he was thinking this was the best day ever.
Kyle was getting yelled at. He didn’t know what he’d done yet. Shed just started yelling like a cow in heat when he got in the door. He caught a little about “stupid” and “What are we going to do” but the rest he was still working on understanding.
When she finally calmed down enough to understand Kyle had tuned her out. So he didn’t figure out what she was saying until about half an hour later.
Kyle was failing. That was all. That was it. It was those 3 words that hit him so hard he almost fell over. How was this happening? He’d passed his midterm. He’d got good enough grades on it to leave his tutoring program. Why the heck was he failing now?

Hailey Mckee's Story-That boy
The heartache that boy has caused. His name is Jeremiah.
He was the High schools most valuable football player, and every girl had to get with him because he was the most popular boy the small town has ever encountered. Girls lined up to date him. Cheerleaders were the first on his list.
He dated every single girl he could get his hands on.
One day a beautiful, smart, and sensible girl moved into
a small town called Oakville, She started going to school at Oakville High School.
As soon as Jeremiah laid eyes on her beach blonde hair and big chest he all of a sudden became wordless. After the first week of school, Jeremiah found that he had chemistry and math with her. He also encountered that her name is Sara Bethany Crisfield.
He felt vulnerable and almost desperate to be her boyfriend. She had around 20 friends. It was a Thursday morning, when she was getting ready for school when her friend Ashley phoned her. They were talking about hot guys at their school. Ashley’s first thought was Jeremiah. Ashley said “ I dated Jeremiah last year, he’s a real hunk, and he’s also a football player.” Sara sighed and said “well I haven’t seen him around but show me him when we get to school. They both hung up the phone to finish eating breakfast. In the car ride over to school Sara’s mother warned her to be careful about the people she decides to trust. Slamming the Mercedes car door shut Sara madly began to walk up the schools pathway. Ashley saw her and they ran to hug. A long day of school went by until it was lunch. Ashley and Sara went to the concession and Ashley whispered, “ There he is”! Sara turned to look but then asked “ which one? That boy in the red circa shirt?”
Ashley whispered back saying “ yes, isn’t he gorgeous?” Sara turned to look back at him and replied, “ He’s okay. Sara glared her down. Ashley admitted, “All right he’s quite handsome.” A couple days passed by as Jeremiah finally had the courage to walk up to Sara and say hey. She replied to him with a shaky voice. “Hey Jeremiah.” They shared their names, and confidently agreed to go on a date together. Sara’s mother was not too happy when Sara greeted her mother at home, after her exciting day. She couldn’t even describe the emotion she felt. The days past as Jeremiah and Sara remained good friends but the day of their date, Sara didn’t show. She wasn’t at school the day after either. Her friends and family were very worried for were she disappeared, and what happened to Sara. Jeremiah was worried to death; he even thought she was the one for him.
The police received a phone call from a person saying they found a dead body, and they think it was the missing girl. Her mother had phoned the police ever since the 3rd day she was missing, they’ve been searching ever since. The police arrived in this alley, she was found dead, in the trashcan. Her mother was ballistic, and heartbroken. The school, and students found out what happened, Jeremiah, and Sara, and everyone that didn’t even no her was devastated. Jeremiah and Ashley started to hang out, and became good friends.
A year later, everyone grew fond of Ashley and Jeremiah dating… They all forgot Sara even existed. Except her Mother, she remembered. She was put in a crazy home, without her daughter she felt like she had no right to live either, she tried killing herself numerous times, but someone always found her at the point where she was about to.
No one knows what ever happened, Sara became a forgotten ghost, of beauty and despair, but all in all, her best friend found her true love, and her mother, well that’s a different story, she never did make it past two years without her beloved daughter gone. There was no part in her that wanted to live. Soon after Ashley’s mother committed suicide, everyone started to go downhill. The town came into a recession, and broke out in sorrow ness. Nobody knew what was happening. Some people believed Ashley and her mother were haunting the small town. They died, but never left. Others believed it was all just because they were getting revenge. Nobody knows what really happened, but As far as Sara and her mom know they will never stop fighting until the next generation of people, free their souls, and free Ashley’s suicidal mistake. Ashley didn’t get raped, nor killed; she committed deadly suicide, because she felt as though she wasn’t good enough for Jeremiah. She felt fat, and ugly, and was threatened by his popularity. She started to hate herself, and everything her mother was making her become. So she killed herself. Jeremiah and Ashley were obviously dead, since it was the next generation of people. The town never remained the same after Sara died. She eventually stopped haunting the small town, and the recession grew out after all those years. People started to move back into Oakville, and start family’s, and build new buildings. Oakville High School burnt down the year of 1876.
